How do I protect myself from fraudulent activity?

Sep 26, 2023

As technology advances, there is also a growing issue of fraud, scams, and cybercrime. It has especially come to our attention that fraudsters have been posing as KCM Trade representatives and contacting our clients to gain access to personal data and funds.

At KCM Trade, it is our utmost priority to provide our clients with the best possible customer service - which includes keeping clients’ information safe.

How do I know if I am being targeted?

You will, from time to time, receive communication from KCM Trade representatives. However, please be aware that no one from KCM Trade will ever reach out to you via text, email or social media to ask you for your account security or personal identity information, such as your account registered email address or trading passwords.

Here are a few good practices to prevent unauthorized activities on your account:

•Don't leave your CRM Area unattended or with someone else. Never ask anyone to create an KCM Trade CRM Area using your name.

•Never share your personal identity documents like ID card, passport, etc with anyone.

•Never share your KCM Trade security type or support PIN with anyone.

•Do not carry out any KCM Trade related financial activities (deposit/withdrawal) outside of the KCM Trade CRM Area.

•Do not transfer your funds to an unknown person’s bank account or payment system.

•Never open any links from unknown sources; if the link looks suspicious do not open it at all, even to verify that it is suspicious, as often the link itself is the danger.

In addition to those above, it is a good practice to never share your passwords with anyone and we urge you to always be cautious when receiving requests for a password or links to change it. These fraudsters can seem like professionals and can appear extremely convincing, even using KCM Trade branding (logos and slogans) to appear legitimate.

If you have any suspicions that you may be a victim of a fraudulent activity, we encourage you to please contact KCM Trade directly via live chat or email cs@kcmtrade.com

What can I do to avoid being a victim of a fraud?

Most important of all, it is imperative you do not respond to any requests for personal or account security information.

Texts, emails or social media messages can look like they are coming from KCM Trade. If you receive an unexpected message from us, you can use these tips to decide whether or not it is legitimate or contact us directly.

In a text message, email or social media we will never:

•Claim that we have detected suspicious activity on your account.

•Send you a link to a website and ask you to provide sensitive information (like your account or trading password).

•Offer any financial offers or investment opportunities.

If someone contacts you claiming to be from KCM Trade:

•Using the information above, determine the legitimacy of the message. If the message is a scam, block the number or email address and delete the message.

•If you receive an unexpected call from someone claiming to work for KCM Trade and asking you to provide personal and sensitive information or asking you to click on a link in a text, hang up the phone and block the number.

•If you are still unsure about the legitimacy of a message, speak with our Support team.

•In case you think you may have already shared sensitive information, like your account registered email address or trading password, please change this password immediately.

•KCM Trade will continue to monitor the situation and do our utmost to ensure your information safety against fraudsters.
